India’s foreign exchange reserves grew nearly $1.5 billion in the week to November 15 to $283.572 billion, with the RBI garnering more than $22 billion through a special swap window for non-resident Indians. There has been a renewed thrust by both banks and overseas Indians over the past week to make the most of the advantage available before the swap facility comes to an end on November 30, a forex dealer with a state-run bank said.
